A BER-Based Partitioned Model for a 2.4GHz Vehicle-to-Vehicle Expressway Channel
نویسندگان
چکیده
Statistical channel models based on BER performance are presented for a frequencyand time-selective vehicle-to-vehicle wireless communications link in an expressway environment in Atlanta, Georgia, where both vehicles traveled in the same direction. The models are developed from measurements taken using the direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) technique at 2.45 GHz. A collection of tapped delay line models, referred to as a “partitioned” model in the paper, is developed to attempt to capture the extremes of BER performance of the recorded channel. Overall and partition models are compared to the recorded channel in terms of the BER statistics obtained when the channels are inserted in a dedicated short range radio (DSRC) standard simulation system. The quality of the match between synthesized and recorded channel BER statistics is analyzed with respect to type of modulation (fixed or adaptive), the frame length, and the length of the interval over which the BER was calculated.

Model Development for the Wideband Vehicle-to-vehicle 2.4 GHz Channel
Statistical channel models are presented for a frequency selective vehicle-to-vehicle or mobile-to-mobile wireless communications link in an expressway environment in Atlanta, Georgia, where both vehicles travel in the same direction. The models were developed from measurements taken using the direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) technique at 2.45 GHz. The models imply a non-separable channel...

Vehicular adhoc network (VANET) adopts or resembles a similar structure of Mobile adhoc network (MANET). The communication in VANET are generally classified into following three categories such as Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I), Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Hybrid network which is a combination of V2V and V2I network. VANET using the IEEE 802.11p standard has great potential of achieving objec...
متن کاملThe Effects of Thin-Walled Structure on Vehicle Occupants’ Safety and Vehicle Crashworthiness
This article investigates the effects of using a thin-walled structure in the chassis front rails in the automotive industry. In frontal accidents, the front rails of the vehicle chassis, increases vehicle crash-worthiness and occupants’ safety by plastic deformation, energy absorption, increasing the crash duration and reducing the load and injuries to the occupants. The objective is to ...
متن کاملMANFIS Based Modeling and Prediction of the Driver-Vehicle Unit Behavior in Overtaking Scenarios
Overtaking a slow lead vehicle is a complex maneuver because of the variety of overtaking conditions and driver behavior. In this study, two novel prediction models for overtaking behavior are proposed. These models are derived based on multi-input multi-output adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (MANFIS). They are validated at microscopic level and are able to simulate and predict the fut...
متن کاملVehicle Stabilization via a Self-Tuning Optimal Controller
Nowadays, using advanced vehicle control and safety systems in vehicles is growing rapidly. In this regard, in recent years new control systems, called VDC, have been introduced. These systems stabilize vehicle yaw motion, by yaw moment resulted from tire controlling forces. In this paper, an adaptive optimal controller applied to a vehicle to obtain a satisfactory lateral and yaw stability. To...
